Dupe Alert! E.L.F. 16hr Camo Concealer vs Tarte Shape Tape
For many, the Tarte Shape Tape has been a popular go-to, full coverage concealer. From those mornings when you’re on the go, to when you’re getting ready for an event, this $28 concealer can easily get the job done. So when I heard through the great vines that there was a $5 dupe by E.L.F. I had to get my hands on it.
On the website, E.L.F. claims that the 16hr Camo Concealer is a “full-coverage, 16-hour wear concealer featuring a large doe foot applicator to conceal, correct, contour and highlight for flawless skin. The highly pigmented formula is lightweight, dries matte and won’t settle into fine lines or creases. Ideal for all skin types.“
When they said it’s full coverage, they were not kidding! A little, and I mean A LITTLE, goes a long way with this concealer. Once applied, immediately follow up with a setting powder to prevent creasing. Keep in mind, if you have dry skin, you may need to use some sort of hydrating setting spray after application. In the image below, you can see the two concealers on for comparison.
Let’s talk about the cons. Tarte Shape Tape has an impressive 30 colors while the Camo Concealer has only 18. I picked mine up from Walmart where they only had 6 or 7 shades in-store. I’ve also noticed that their packaging is completely off. The color on the packaging is not true to the actual shade of the product (pretty annoying when you have to make multiple trips to the store to figure out which one will work for you).
Overall, I was very impressed by this concealer and how well it performed. Not only is the coverage is incredible, you won’t have to worry about breaking the bank for one product.
Have you guys tried the E.L.F. 16hr Camo Concealer yet? What are your thoughts?
