Plus Size Women’s Gym Bag Essentials

Whether you’re looking to start a workout program or already have a solid gym routine in place, having a gym bag with all of the right things is a must. As someone who has been squeezing her workouts at lunch during the workweek, I’ve figured out what any plus size woman (or anyone in general) would need to have in their gym bag for a better workout and post workout sesh. Here are my top 10 plus size women’s gym bag essentials you need to keep in your gym bag.

Note: these are the things I like to keep when I’m on a time crunch and do not have time to shower after a workout.

Water Bottle

Stay hydrated kids. If you didn’t know already, it’s very important to drink water before, during, and after a workout. It’s much easier to get your water intake by having a water bottle in hand.

Shoes

Did you know running shoes are different from lifting shoes? If strength training is in your workout program, keep a pair of weight lifting shoes like this one in your bag.

Body wipes

Can’t shower after a workout? No problem! Grab a couple of these refreshing body wipes to wipe the sweat off of your body. Remember to get into all of the creases, under every boob and under any rolls you may have.

Deodorant

I know what you’re thinking: “duh.” The trick is where you apply it. Just remember to use deo in other areas of your body along with your armpits. Remember how I mentioned to use a body wipe in all of those creases and under rolls? Follow up with your deo in all of the places you’ve used that body wipe. That way it’ll soak up the extra sweat from the rest of the day. Trust me on this. Body wipes + deodorant is going to be a game changer for those who don’t have time to shower after a workout.

Body spray

The final step for your body is to use some sort of body spray and or perfume. I tend to use body sprays that a have a more masculine scent, but pick the one you love and run with it. You can find affordable ones at ROSS, Marshalls, and TJ Maxx.

Face wipes

Ok, now that we took care of the body, let’s move to your face. I’m not a big fan of face wipes, but when it comes to quick time savers, this is your best bet. If you don’t have time to cleanse your face with a face wash, this is the easiest and most time-saving way to remove excess sweat from your face.

Dry shampoo & hair brush

If you don’t have dry shampoo, run don’t walk. This is especially handy when you don’t have time to shower. Just spritz some onto your hair, wait a minute before you zhuzh it up and brush it out.

Moisturizers

After a good sweat, your face needs some added moisture. I use something that has a more gel base that feels really good on the skin. Summer Fridays Cloud Dew Oil-Free Gel Cream Moisturizer is one of my all time gel moisturizers. Great for using under light makeup.

SPF moisturizer

You’re going to want this pre, during, and post workout. Having a good spf moisturizer is important if you’re out during the day. Your spf should be the final step in your skin care routine, and the product you use right before you wear makeup.

Tech

The perfect workout playlist can go a long way with keeping your motivation up during a workout. Keep your headphones in your bag so you wont be stuck with what ever your local gym is playing. Remember to also pack your apple watch or some sort of tech gear that tracks your workout.
