How to Highlight a Round Face
The combination of a good highlighting product and the right technique can quickly shape and brighten your face. The techniques to apply highlight differs for each face shape. If you have a round face, use these tips and tricks to get that perfect glow.
First step: find the right highlight. I’ve found that highlights with peachy and gold undertones work well on almost all skin tones. My favorite highlighers are the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Glow Amour Glow Boosting Drops in Golden Hour, and the Wet ‘n’ Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Power in Precious Petal. With liquid highlighers, you can lightly dab it onto your face using your ring finger. With powder highlighters, a fan brush works well.
Remember that a highlighter is meant to highlight and bring forward your facial features. Meaning, you’ll want to add highlight to the bridge of your nose, your cheakbones, under your brows, and your cupids bow. The key to highlighting a round face is all about the angle the product is placed on your cheekbones. By starting near your eyes and highlighting in a more vertical-diagnal line vs a horizontal one, this will give the illusion of a longer, face. The more horizonal the highlight is, the more of a wider appearance it’ll give.
