Minimal Makeup Routine

Minimal Makeup Routine

There are some days where you’ll want a full glam, and then there are others where you want to wear the bare minimum. A very simple minimal makeup routine comes in handy when you’re on the go. If you’re looking for a minimal makeup routine for brown skin, I’ve got you covered. Keep your makeup routine simple with these products and give your skin a break from all that cake.

Skincare

Believe it or not, this is probably the most important step to getting that perfect no makeup makeup, minimal makeup look. If you hydrate and prep your skin from the start, the makeup you apply will look better. For dry skin, mix your favorite moisturizer (this one is my favorite) and a face oil, like this one, together and apply to your face. Finally, for oily skin, just use your favorite moisturizer.

Brows

Although there are plenty of brow products out there ranging in prices, I keep going back to this one. The Rare Beauty Brow Harmony Pencil & Gel has been a staple.

Face

Normally I ditch the foundation and go straight for the concealer. I kid you not, this concealer is a drugstore dupe for the Tarte Shape Tape…and dare I say it’s actually better! The E.L.F. Hydrating Camo Concealer gives you the perfect coverage without feeling too cakey on the skin. I use the shades Tan Walnut for all over and Medium Warm to highlight the under eyes and any other place I want to brighten.

After applying your concealer, warm your face up with a bit of bronzer, and finish off with a setting spray.

Eyes

Keep it simple with the eyes, but don’t neglect it! Skip the thick black liners and go for a nice, lengthening mascara like this one.

Quick tip: If you want to add a bit more color, use your bronzer and add it to your eyelids.

Lips

Last but not least, your lips. I go into more detail here on why this is Best Drugstore Nude Lipstick For Dark Skin. Just keep this in your purse to reapply throughout the day!

Yes I love minimal makeup days! I do basically the same thing as you – med coverage foundation, with a little bit of powder depending on the foundation I use, feather on some bronzer and whip on a tinted brow gel and mascara and I’m good to go!

It’s the first and only brow pomade I’ve used. It’s a little on the dry side, but I really like it. It’s better than pencil in my opinion. What are your favorite brow products?
