Peter Thomas Roth Skin to Die For No-Filter Mattifying Primer & Complexion Perfector

Peter Thomas Roth Skin to Die For No-Filter Mattifying Primer & Complexion Perfector

Well, that’s a really long name for a makeup product, ha. In this post, I’m going over the Peter Thomas Roth Skin to Die For No-Filter Mattifying Primer & Complexion Perfector and my thoughts on this product.

Let’s start off with why primers are helpful. They help with a number of things. First, a mattifying primer will do wonders for oily skin.  It will help reduce the appearance of shine and lets your foundation last longer. Primers can also reduce the look of the large pores, making your skin look more smooth. My favorite reason for wearing a primer is that they will give your makeup something to stick on, helping with the lasting power of your products.

peter-thomas-roth-matte-primerThe product claims the following:
Instantly blurs, fills and helps reduce the look of pores, fine lines, and imperfections with a natural-looking matte finish. A powerful mattifying complex absorbs excess oil while powerful Disa-Pore 20 and Evermat™ help reduce the appearance of pore size and shape over time. Subtle, universal tint instantly blends with any skin tone and shade. Can be used under makeup for flawless results, or alone for a naturally beautiful, no-filter look. For all skin types.

Here are my thoughts after using this product for a week:
-It does a good job to smooth out my skin
-It helps keep the oil at bay
-It doesn’t completely mattify your skin, it’s a little more on the dewy side (however, I do like that look)
-Blurs the pores and fine lines
-Feels very light on the skin
-Don’t be nervous about the tint of the product. The color blends with any skin tone

Some other notes:
-Has a siliconey feel to it. If that’s something you’re not into, you may not like this product
-Even though Peter Thomas Roth is known for their skin care products, I don’t think that this product actually has beneficial ingredients for skin care

Overall, I really did enjoy this product. If you have the money to splurge on this primer, you can find it here for $28.00. Have you tried this product yet? What are your thoughts?
