Trying Out Kim Kardashian’s Shampoo: Finesse Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Finesse Shampoo and Conditioner Review

So there’s this shampoo and conditioner that Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner swears by. Why was I interested in this one? Because it retails for $1.99 at your local Walgreens and Walmart! What?! Yes, you heard me. So I had to do a little test to see if a 2 dollar shampoo was worth the hype.

So, about this product: it claims that you can “Get hair that’s healthier, stronger, and more alive with Finesse®. Infused with active proteins, Finesse® Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner help restore and strengthen hair that is dry, damaged, stubborn, or sometimes frizzy. The active silk and soy proteins penetrate deep into the hair shaft, leaving your hair more moisturized and manageable. Your hair will feel clean and silky soft, while being easier to detangle and easier to style. Available at: Walgreens, Rite Aid, Walmart, and grocery chains such as Kroger, Shoprite, HEB, and Publix.”

Well, that was a mouth full.

I wash my hair every 2-3 days, so I made sure to give it a full two weeks before giving my full and honest review and thoughts about it.

How did I feel about it? To be honest…I don’t really know. I have major mixed feelings about this product.

Let’s start with the smell: I really really really don’t like the smell. Some may like it, but for me it was a huge turn off. It’s not floral or anything, but there’s this weird scent to it. As far as the consistency, I was fairly surprised at how watery the formula was. I was thinking it would be thicker, and it was the same with the conditioner. Meh.

After using it a few times, I’ve noticed my hair looking and feeling a lot flatter than usual. Meaning if you struggle with volume already, this product may not be the best option for you.

So what did I like about this product? Holy crap the shine! After blow drying and straightening my hair, I’ve noticed how shiny it looked and how soft and smooth it felt. And even though I did not have the volume I wished for, I still liked how my hair looked and felt.

Bottom line, I think that this product is not the best for fine, thin hair. BUT if you have thicker hair and you are in need of moisture and shine, I would definitely recommend this product.
