How to Remove Halloween Makeup
Do you know what’s scarier than creepy Halloween costumes? The after-effects of not properly removing your Halloween makeup! Sure you’ve worked on your makeup for hours and you’re very proud of how it turned out to where you don’t want to take it off. When it comes to skincare, YOU HAVE TO REMOVE YOUR MAKEUP BEFORE YOU GO TO BED. If you don’t, pores will get clogged, bacteria will thrive, and breakouts will emerge. In this post, I’m giving you ghouls a complete guide on how to remove Halloween makeup.
STEP 1: USE AN OIL BALM
Oil balms are going to help break down the thick, cakey layers of foundation, waterproof paints, adhesive glue, and fake blood. My favorite is the Clinique Take the Day Off. You can use coconut oil or baby oil if you don’t have acne-prone skin.
STEP 2: CLEANSE
If you’re not familiar with the double cleanse method, it’s basically cleansing your face twice. The first time is with an oil base (step 1) and the second is with a cleanser. Use a Clarisonic or a similar brush to effectively cleanse the skin.
STEP 3: USE AN EYE MAKEUP REMOVER
Your eyes are one of the most delicate areas on your body. If you’re not gentle, you can add on years to your faced with premature wrinkles. If you still have makeup left on your eyes, use micelar water and a cotton pad. Press the cotton pad over your eyes to break down any adhesives and waterproof mascara, and gently remove whatever is left.
STEP 4: USE A TONER
Have you followed all of these steps and still found a few makeup smudges on your face towel? You’d be surprised at what is still left lingering on your face even after taking all of these steps. After a night of heavy makeup wear, a toner is going to ensure that there are no more dirt and makeup left on your face. Toners will also help restore your skin’s PH balance and minimize your pores.
STEP 5: NOURISH YOUR SKIN
Have a safe and happy Halloween!
