About

Get to Know Me

Style for the apple shape. Wellness for the rule breakers.

I’m Kay. Bengali-American, apple-shaped, size 14, and living in Atlanta. I’m figuring out my body, my health and my 30s in real time, and taking notes for you.

Why XOXOKAYMO exists

For years, every style guide I read was written for someone else. “Define your waist.” “Tuck it in.” “Show off your curves.” Great advice, if your curves are in your hips. Mine live in my midsection, and nobody was writing for that.

Wellness was worse. Then came the Hashimoto’s and PCOS diagnoses, and suddenly every “healthy” tip on my feed was either impossible, restrictive, or designed for a body and a life that looked nothing like mine. Add growing up Bengali-American, where everyone has an opinion about your body and your plate, and I had a lot of thoughts with nowhere to put them.

What you'll find here

Style: outfit guides, capsule wardrobes and honest try-ons built for the belly-first body. What actually works on an apple shape, and what doesn’t.

Beauty: makeup, skincare, hair and body care for brown skin, hormonal skin and real budgets. Tested on me first.

Wellness: life with Hashimoto’s and PCOS, fitness for apple shapes, nutrition without restriction, and the mental health side nobody posts about.

Living: Atlanta, travel, home, the seasons I romanticize, and whatever I’m watching, reading or obsessing over.

The Edit: the diary side. Personal essays and honest conversations, the part I’d tell you over coffee.

If you’ve ever felt like the advice wasn’t written for you, welcome. It is now.

Quiz

What does “apple shape” mean?

It means you carry your weight mostly through your middle: tummy, bust and back, often with slimmer legs and hips. Most “curvy” advice is written for pear shapes, which is exactly why this site exists.

How would you describe your style?

I’d describe it as minimal, simple, yet put together.

Where you are currently living?

Atlanta, Georgia

How long did it take you to put your hashimotos into remission?

I officially got diagnosed October of 2022, and was in remission by summer 2025.

Why do you talk about Hashimoto’s and PMOS/PCOS?

Because I live with both, and most wellness content ignores what that actually feels like day to day. I share my experience, not medical advice, so always check with your own doctor.

When did you start blogging?

I cannot believe it’s been a decade! The site has changed a lot since I first started. The niche got specific once I stopped writing for everyone and started writing for bodies like mine.

What size do you wear?

Usually a 14, depending on the brand.

What’s your beauty non-negotiable?

SPF Every. Single. Day. If you can see the sun, the sun can see you.
