Most people can’t wait for Spring and Summer’s warmer weather. It’s a great reason to wear shorts, spend the day under the sun, and enjoy being outdoors. But for some of us plus size and curvy women out there, it’s a reminder of how unpleasant it can be when you sweat in places you never thought you’d sweat in. In this blog post, I’m giving you guys my top 5 tips on keeping cool and feeling fresh during Spring and Summer.
Plus Size Tips for Spring and Summer
Tip No. 1: Deodorant. I’m not just talking about under the arms. For some of us, we may have a few extra nooks and crannies that need a little bit of it too. Apply deo under your arms, under your boobs, and under your pouch (if you have one). If you feel as if you have a few extra places to swipe a little deo in, DO IT. You will feel more comfortable during the day, and this will help with the sweat and odor.
Tip No. 2: Baby Powder/Oil. One of the perks of warmer weather is being able to wear dresses and skirts. The downside: chafing. When your thighs start to rub with each other as you walk, it will start to hurt. Apply baby powder or any type of oil (coconut, almond, baby oil) to the inside of your thighs to prevent it.
Tip No. 3: Body wipes. I kid you not, this is a MUST, especially when you’re outside running errands. Take a body wipe, and wipe away the sweat anywhere you need to on your body. This will take care of feeling sticky and gross throughout the day.
Tip No. 4: Exfoliate. Exfoliating is very important in removing dead skin and dirt. Which is why it’s even more important to exfoliate in all of those nooks and crannies where dirt and dead skin build up. If you don’t, it will continue to build up, leading to bad odor and feeling uncomfortable. I like to mix honey (it’s antibacterial) and sugar to create a natural scrub and exfoliate those areas when I’m in the shower.
Tip No. 5: Shave it off. Your hair tends to hold onto odor. Meaning if you don’t shave your armpits (or any place else, if you know what I mean lol) you’ll immediately notice it. Be sure to get into the habit of shaving all the unwanted hair in those areas for a smoother, cleaner, and less smelly skin.
